Malcolm X was born Malcolm Little in Omaha, Nebraska, in 1925. His father was a Baptist minister and his mother was a homemaker. Malcolm's father was killed by white supremacists when Malcolm was six years old, and his mother was institutionalized when he was thirteen. Malcolm and his siblings were sent to foster homes and orphanages.

Malcolm dropped out of school in the eighth grade and moved to Boston, where he worked a series of odd jobs. He also began to get involved in crime, and he was eventually arrested and sentenced to prison for burglary.

While in prison, Malcolm converted to Islam and became a member of the Nation of Islam. The Nation of Islam was a black nationalist organization that advocated for the separation of blacks and whites. Malcolm quickly rose through the ranks of the Nation of Islam, and he became one of its most prominent leaders.

In the 1960s, Malcolm X began to question the teachings of the Nation of Islam. He broke with the organization in 1964 and founded his own group, the Muslim Mosque, Inc. Malcolm X also made a pilgrimage to Mecca, which led to a profound transformation in his life.

After his pilgrimage to Mecca, Malcolm X renounced his previous views on race and violence. He began to preach a message of peace and unity, and he called for blacks and whites to work together to build a better world.

Malcolm X was assassinated in 1965 by members of the Nation of Islam. He was just 39 years old. Malcolm X's death was a tragedy, but his legacy continues to inspire people around the world.

Malcolm X was a complex and controversial figure. He was a brilliant orator and a charismatic leader. He was also a man who was willing to change his views and to challenge the status quo. Malcolm X's life is a testament to the power of redemption and the importance of fighting for what you believe in.
