Islands in the Snow is a powerful and moving novel that tells the story of a group of Jewish refugees who are sent to a remote island in the Arctic Circle during World War II. Based on a true story, the novel explores the themes of hope, resilience, and the power of the human spirit.
The novel begins in 1942, when the Nazis round up a group of Jewish refugees and send them to a concentration camp in Norway. From there, they are transported to a remote island in the Arctic Circle, where they are forced to live in harsh and unforgiving conditions.
The refugees on the island are a diverse group of people, including men, women, and children. They come from all walks of life, but they are all united by their shared experience of persecution and their determination to survive.
