Nobel was born in Stockholm, Sweden, on October 21, 1833. His father, Immanuel Nobel, was an engineer and inventor. His mother, Andriette Ahlsell Nobel, was a devout Christian.
Nobel showed an early interest in science and engineering. He began studying chemistry at the age of 16. In 1850, he traveled to the United States to work in his father's factory. There, he learned about the use of nitroglycerin in explosives.
In 1863, Nobel returned to Sweden and began working on his own explosives. In 1865, he invented dynamite. Dynamite was a much safer and more powerful explosive than nitroglycerin. It quickly became the most widely used explosive in the world.
Nobel made a fortune from his invention. He used his wealth to fund the Nobel Prize. The Nobel Prize is awarded annually to individuals who have made outstanding contributions to the fields of physics, chemistry, medicine, literature, and peace.
Nobel died in San Remo, Italy, on December 10, 1896. He was 63 years old.

The Nobel Prize is one of the most prestigious awards in the world. It has been awarded to some of the greatest minds in history, including Marie Curie, Albert Einstein, and Nelson Mandela.
Nobel was a complex and contradictory figure. He was a brilliant scientist and inventor, but he was also a ruthless businessman. He was a generous philanthropist, but he was also a misanthrope. Despite his flaws, Nobel left a lasting legacy that continues to benefit the world today.
